Following a bodybuilding/fitness diet can be hard. Eating six to eight meals a day is no joke. When you’re on a bulking diet you can find yourself starving all the the time. Giving into sinful food can be really easy during this time. Snacks are small meals that curb your hunger while keeping you on track of your goals.
This problem gets even worse when you’re traveling or you’ve missed on packing your meals. You probably eat your three "squares" daily: a clean protein source, complex carbs, and some healthy fats. Things get out of hand when between-meals munchies arise and you didn't pack any of your healthy snacks.
Snacks for bodybuilders usually follow a few simple rules. They are often high in protein, low in sugar and, in general, are healthy foods. A good bodybuilding snack should shoot for around 15 or more grams of protein, with an equal or lesser amount of carbohydrates. Some common bodybuilder snacks include dairy products, fruits and vegetables and whole grains.
Your city might have a lot to offer to someone with an empty belly and some spare change. But very few of those options are suitable for someone who’s trying to fill that belly while adhering to their bodybuilding diet. No matter how hard you try you aren’t going to find an ideal bodybuilder menu at most of the restaurants.
